Celebrating Eight Years of Investing in the Next Generation of Trailblazers
DANVILLE, VA — The Wendell Scott Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Wendell Scott Legacy Scholarship, continuing a powerful tradition of honoring students who demonstrate resilience, ambition, and leadership. Now in its eighth year, the program has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to five exceptional high school seniors from Virginia and North Carolina.
The Wendell Scott Legacy Scholarship is named after Wendell Scott, the first African American driver and team owner to win at NASCAR’s highest level. This annual award reflects his enduring legacy by uplifting young people who embody his perseverance, character, and commitment to excellence.
“Our scholars reflect the same fighting spirit that defined my grandfather’s life,” said Warrick Scott, CEO of the Wendell Scott Foundation. “We believe in them and are proud to support their journey forward. Their success keeps the Wendell Scott legacy alive in classrooms, communities, and beyond.”
