DANVILLE, VA (May 16, 2023) – The Wendell Scott Foundation is joining NASCAR, The NASCAR Foundation, Speedway Motorsports, and Speedway Children’s Charities for the first-ever NASCAR Day Giveathon, an online giving campaign to raise $750,000 in charitable funds for local charities in all 50 states.
(August 21, 2023) – The Library of Virginia and Dominion Energy proudly present the posthumous recognition of Wendell Scott, the trailblazing African American motorsports legend, with the esteemed 2023 Strong Men and Women of Virginia Award.
Wendell Scott Sr., the trailblazing figure known for his groundbreaking achievements in NASCAR, has been named as a 2024 inductee into the prestigious Automotive Hall of Fame. The Induction & Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 19, where Scott and other global mobility pioneers will be honored.
The Advancement of Blacks In Sports (ABIS) recently announced that Wendell Scott will be honored with the Pioneer Award at its third annual Champions & Legends Fundraising Weekend. This prestigious award will be accepted by his grandson, Warrick Scott, who serves as the CEO of the Wendell Scott Foundation.
Wendell Scott, NASCAR’s first Black race winner, will be inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame. Watch the live stream.
