Hosted by the Wendell Scott Foundation in partnership with Virginia State University, Camp Cultivation is more than a summer camp—it’s a transformational experience designed to plant seeds of opportunity, leadership, and innovation in the lives of high school students from underserved communities.

🚀 What is Camp Cultivation?

Camp Cultivation is a free, three-day immersive experience for rising high school students. Taking place on the historic campus of Virginia State University, this unique camp blends the excitement of college life with real-world exposure to STEM, agriculture, motorsports, and career pathways—all through the inspiring lens of Wendell Scott’s trailblazing legacy.

🏫 Live the HBCU Experience

Campers stay in VSU dorms, receive official student IDs, and participate in activities like:

Freshman orientation simulations

Step shows & karaoke nights

Campus cookouts

College and career pathway workshops

From the moment students arrive, they’re treated like scholars—because they are.

🔬 STEM Meets Speed

Camp Cultivation exposes students to high-demand fields like:

Engineering & Robotics

Agriculture & Environmental Science

Motorsports Technology

Data Science & Cybersecurity

Students engage in hands-on projects, lab experiences, and even trackside learning at locations like the Richmond Raceway and the Black History Museum.
