Born Driven NCI Book Giveaway
The Wendell Scott Foundation’s “Born to Read: Igniting Literacy in Elementary School” program is a captivating and inspiring initiative designed to enhance the literacy skills of elementary school children while fostering a love for reading. At the center of the programs the book “Born Driven,” which shares the extraordinary story of Wendall Scott, the first African American to win a race in a NASCAR Grand National Series. Through engaging activities, such as read – alongs, reading comprehension exercises, and writing exercises, students have the opportunity to explore their own dreams and aspirations while deepening their understanding of Wendall Scotts journey. The program also focuses on expanding vocabulary, promoting reflection and discussion, and developing critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
