Why This Matters

“The Wendell Scott Legacy Scholarship is more than a financial award—it’s a symbol of possibility and perseverance,” said Warrick Scott, CEO of the Wendell Scott Foundation and grandson of Wendell Scott. “We want to invest in students who carry the same spirit as my grandfather—those who rise above challenges and push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

In 2024, the foundation awarded scholarships to 10 outstanding students nationwide, helping them cover tuition, books, and other essential college expenses. Many past recipients have gone on to attend prestigious institutions and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Honoring a Trailblazer

Wendell Scott broke racial barriers in motorsports during the 1960s, winning races and earning respect despite systemic discrimination and limited resources. The Wendell Scott Foundation continues its mission by uplifting young leaders through educational and mentorship opportunities.
