About The Foundation

Driving Change, Honoring a Legacy

Wendell Scott wasn’t just a pioneer in motorsports—he was a trailblazer for equality, determination, and resilience. As the first African American driver to win a race in NASCAR’s premier division, Wendell broke barriers in a sport
where the odds were stacked against him. His story is one of grit, perseverance, and an unshakable belief in his dreams.

Today, the Wendell Scott Foundation carries that legacy forward. Our mission is to empower underserved youth through education, mentorship, and career development programs, providing them with the tools and confidence to chase their own dreams.

We’re tackling challenges like the lack of access to STEM opportunities, educational disparities, and the need for positive role models in marginalized communities. Through scholarships, hands-on learning experiences, and community engagement, we’re building a future where every young person has the chance to succeed—no matter the barriers they face.

Wendell Scott’s life reminds us all that courage and hard work can overcome even the toughest obstacles. With your support, we can continue to honor his legacy by making a tangible difference in the lives of the next generation. Together, we’re driving change and creating opportunities that will impact families and communities for years to come.

Let’s write the next chapter of this incredible story—together.
