Lead Partners: The Wendell Scott Foundation & The Danville Regional Foundation (DRF) Community Council
Project Budget: $25,000
Proposal Deadline: Friday, July 31st
The Opportunity
The Wendell Scott Foundation, in partnership with the Danville Regional Foundation’s Community Council, is seeking a qualified research consultant, firm, or academic partner to conduct a comprehensive Youth Needs Assessment in Danville, Virginia.
This project focuses intensely on Zones 14 and 15. Our goal is to gather actionable, localized data to identify service gaps, resource needs, and direct opportunities to improve the lives of our local youth. The insights from this study will directly shape future funding and youth program designs in these target neighborhoods.
Who We Are Looking For
We want a partner who doesn’t just look at spreadsheets, but gets out onto the pavement. The ideal partner brings:
- Deep Local/Regional Context: Proximity to or deep familiarity with Danville and Southside Virginia.
- Creative Youth Engagement: A clear strategy to use interactive, youth-led sessions rather than standard digital-only surveys.
- Targeted Field Strategy: A concrete plan to engage directly with families and stakeholders across our target neighborhoods.
- Execution Focus: The capability to deliver clear, actionable milestones and a final report by October 31st.
How We Will Grade Proposals
To keep our selection process transparent, our committee evaluates all incoming proposals against a strict 100-point rubric based on four core pillars:
- Youth Engagement Strategy: Quality of interactive, age-appropriate engagement methods.
- Zone 14 & 15 Field Plan: Depth of coverage planned across our 10 target communities.
- Danville & Regional Proximity Experience working in or close to Southside Virginia.
- Feasibility & Timeline: Realism of milestone mapping to meet our October 31st completion date.
Note: Proposals must strictly adhere to the $25,000 project budget limit to be eligible for consideration.
